What PitchRoots is
PitchRoots is a community football ⚽ platform for coaches, parents, and players in Greater Edmonton, Alberta. It provides team management (schedules, rosters, RSVPs), community football intelligence (Pitch Digest, facility info, season guides), and SMS-based interaction.
Who can use PitchRoots
Coach and parent accounts require you to be at least 18 years old. Players of any age can be added to a team roster by their coach. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 18 or older.
Pricing
PitchRoots offers a Coach Season Pass for $49 CAD per season (up to 8 months). A single season pass covers all teams you manage and includes SMS notifications, AI practice plans, Season Loop parent feedback, and schedule management.
Community features — including the Pitch Digest, facility directory, season guides, and club information — remain free for everyone. Parents and players never pay.
Promo codes may be offered from time to time and are subject to their own validity windows and redemption limits.
Payments and refunds
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. PitchRoots does not store your credit card number, expiry date, or CVC. All payment details are handled entirely by Stripe in accordance with PCI DSS standards.
Season pass purchases are one-time payments (not recurring subscriptions). If you are unsatisfied, contact support@pitchroots.ca within 14 days of purchase for a full refund. After 14 days, no refunds are issued, but your pass remains active for the full season duration.
No warranty
We do our best to keep the platform reliable and the data accurate, but we make no guarantees about uptime, availability, or the completeness of any information. Use the platform at your own discretion.
PitchRoots is not a replacement for official communications from your league, club, or municipality. Always confirm game times, field closures, and registration deadlines with the source.
AI-generated content
Content on PitchRoots — including Pitch Digest items, facility status, and event listings — is curated by AI agents from community SMS reports and public sources. This content may contain errors, outdated information, or misinterpretations. It is not verified by a human editor before publication.
If you spot an error, contact us at support@pitchroots.ca and we will correct it.
Acceptable use
When using PitchRoots, you agree not to:
- Send spam, abusive, or threatening content via SMS
- Submit deliberately false reports to the community feed
- Attempt to access other coaches' teams or admin areas without authorization
- Use the platform for anything unrelated to community football
We reserve the right to block phone numbers or accounts that violate these terms.
Your data
Your data is yours. We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties. Team data (rosters, schedules, results) is controlled by the team's coach and is only visible to verified team members.
When you add a player to your roster, you confirm that you have appropriate authorization from the player's parent or guardian to share their first name, birth year, and jersey number with PitchRoots for team management purposes.
Coach responsibility: As a coach, you are responsible for ensuring that each player under 16 on your roster has parental or guardian authorization to participate. PitchRoots provides tools for players to request parental approval, but the coach retains ultimate responsibility for verifying that authorization exists before a minor participates in team activities.
Community reports submitted via SMS may be edited by AI agents and published on the community feed. Personal names are stripped before publication. By texting a community report, you grant PitchRoots permission to publish an edited version of that information.
Deleting your data
Coaches can delete their team at any time from the dashboard. This permanently removes the team, all roster data, events, RSVPs, and messages. Teams are also automatically deleted six months after their season ends. Account deletion is available in account settings.
Parents and players can text STOP at any time to unsubscribe from all teams and stop receiving messages. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
SMS communications
By texting PitchRoots or joining a team via SMS, you consent to receiving text messages related to your team (schedule updates, cancellations, announcements). Standard messaging rates from your carrier may apply.
You can opt out at any time by texting STOP. This is immediate and permanent until you choose to rejoin.
Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada. PitchRoots is subject to the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and the Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the platform evolves. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of PitchRoots after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
